Hello! Welcome to the online home of Simply Sugaring.

What is sugaring hair removal?

Sugaring, not waxing, is probably the best way to remove unwanted hair. Warm sugar paste, not wax, is applied to the skin and then flicked off removing the hair and root. The treatment also removes dead skin cells leaving the skin silky smooth! Sugaring is a hair-removal method, which was formulated thousands of years ago and has been documented to be in use by even ancient civilisations such as Egyptian, Greek and Indian, way before waxing.

Sugaring vs Waxing

The aim of waxing and sugaring is the same:  To remove the whole hair from the follicle. The methods however, are very different. With sugaring, new sugar paste is used with every client, and then thrown away. The skin is always well supported, and the paste is removed with a quick flick of the wrist, never pulled off, a much gentler method of treatment.

Some of the advantages of sugaring include:

  • The sugaring paste only sticks to the hair to be removed and not to the skin, so the procedure is less painful compared to waxing.
  • The sugaring paste is only slightly warm, so there is less skin irritation and reaction compared to waxing, and negligible chances of skin burning.
  • Sugaring involves the use of  natural ingredients, sugar and water, unlike waxing, which consists of resins and chemicals.
  • Also, the sugaring paste being extremely soluble in water, any sticky mess left on the skin or elsewhere can be removed easily by soap and water, unlike waxing!
  • The chances of ingrown hair are less with sugaring than with waxing.
  • Sugaring can be used to remove even shorter hair (1/8th of an inch or less) than can be removed by waxing.
  • Over a period of time frequent sugar treatment can prevent hair growth.
  • Clients with sensitive skin, varicose veins, superficial red thread veins, and scarring can be successfully treated, unlike waxing! !
